Success of Vincents Architecture in the competition of the apartment building at 4 Veru Street
28.02.2014

Vincents Architecture participated in the open competition of architecture ideas of an exclusive apartment building at 4 Veru Street and gained great success. The main cooperation partner of Vincents Architecture Meinhard von Gerkan was acquainted with the design of Forburgh Residence during his visit in Riga. One of the currently most prominent architects of the world emphasized the high quality of the concept and solutions of the offered design. The German architect who was born in Riga highly appreciated the high professionalism of the team of “Vincents Arhitektūra”.

Forburgh Residence – a design corresponding to the quality of the 21th century which has been embodied in the historical and spatial framework. The building volume logically maintains the perimeter building of the section characteristic of the centre of Riga. A unit of the residential buildings of two volumes in the area close to the centre of Riga respects the scale of the area of Veru Street and architectural features. The height variations from 4 to 6 floors, the facades built in the neofunctionalism style, as well as comfortable apartment layouts are the main qualities of the group of these buildings. Forburgh Residence is characteristic of the sense of context, scale corresponding to the location, simplicity, convenient apartment layout, restraint provided by natural colours and culture of architectural details.

A regular and rational architectural network has been developed for this design by making the layout of the building particularly flexible. It is possible to design two large apartments, or, for example, three smaller apartments at the level of one floor. The planning principle allows to respond to the real estate market requirements efficiently.

Green roof terraces are planned for the floors of upper levels in the western part of the land plot which will provide special quality in the urban environment.

A prestigious entrance hall with a concierge and a waiting room are planned on the ground floor of the newly erected building. The first level contains parking lots, as well as auxiliary premises for each owner of the apartment.

The new building is planned as a framework system reinforced concrete structure building. All the construction elements are maximally unified in order to reduce the building costs.
